It is a basic human right for people to live in a safe environment away from harm and abuse. Safeguarding procedures are crucial to ensure these individuals are protected.\n\nHealthcare workers meet the most vulnerable people in society – often when they are at their most in need of support. These people are seeking healthcare due to illness, injury, and often when they have reached some sort of \"crisis point\" in their life.\n\nThis module should take approximately 40 minutes to complete, and you will receive a completion certificate upon full completion, which can be used for CPD requirements.\n\nThis online module has been developed by Interplast, to support healthcare workers across the Asia Pacific (and beyond) to better understand safeguarding in the healthcare context, and what they, as individuals, teams and organisations, can do to ensure that children and other vulnerable people can access the healthcare they need, and do so in a safe, supported and effective way. \n \nA special thanks to the different organisations whose content has been shared or referenced in this training, who have been acknowledged throughout the module. Have improved knowledge of current definitions and concepts of safeguarding, child protection and the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment;\n2. Understand the importance of safeguarding of children and other vulnerable people in healthcare settings;\n3. Be able to explain the key principles of safeguarding of vulnerable people in healthcare; and\n4.
