Colorectal and pancreatic cancer are the second and third leading cause of cancer-related death respectively. Thus, GPs play a critical role across preventive health activities, diagnosis and management of gastrointestinal disease including but not limited to cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. This education activity will communicate key red flag signs and symptoms relating to pancreatic cancer improving the timeliness of detection and subsequent treatment. In addition, this activity will communicate the importance of robust prehabilitation prior to cancer surgery to optimise patient outcomes. Lastly, this education will reinforce the importance of preventive health screening for colorectal cancer within high-risk patient populations, and outline referral and management pathways for patients with suspected malignancy to ensure timely intervention.\n\nThis activity is approved by the RACGP for the following CPD hours\nEA: 1.5\nRP: 3\nMO: 5\n\n# Learning Outcomes\nAt the end of this CPD activity, GP participants will be able to:  \n1. Apply current guidance and tools to identify patients at increased risk of pancreatic cancer based on clinical, familial, and lifestyle factors.\n2. Discuss key risk factors and red flag symptoms of pancreatic and colorectal cancer that warrant timely referral to a specialist.\n3. Develop prehabilitation plans and apply a multidisciplinary approach for patients undergoing cancer surgery.\n4.
