GP’s provide the front line and are our community’s main screening providers and they need to understand the details of the cervical screening program and the potential implications of results and further testing required, as well as those special needs populations. With new guidelines available, it is essential that education is provided for GPs to be able to up-skill in this area. New clinical practice guidelines are also available for the follow up care for women with low risk endometrial cancer, which have been published to assist doctors and their patients to make informed treatment choices. GPs and their teams are integral to the implementation of these new guidelines.
