  • registered members and unauthenticated users of the website (including https://praxhub.com and https://app.praxhub.com) and all other Praxhub directories and sub-domains (collectively, the "Site"), and
  • organisations who host content on the Site that can be accessed by Praxhub members. If you know or suspect any violations of your privacy through your use of Praxhub, please contact us immediately.

Consent to the handling of your Personal Information

By accessing and using the Site, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is also to be read in conjunction with Praxhub's Terms of Use.

Personal Information that Praxhub collects

Personal Information

Praxhub collects Personal Information to facilitate the service, which includes delivering an online environment where healthcare professionals and experts (individuals and organisations) can freely connect, share and exchange information and collaborate (the Service). Personal information may include your:

  • name, birthdate and gender;
  • email address
  • telephone and mobile number
  • practice location
  • year in which you qualified in your nominated profession/specialty
  • description of your professional experience
  • areas of specific interest or membership with professional associations
  • other professional details

It may also include any other information by which your identity can be ascertained.

What is Personal Information?

It is any information or an opinion, whether recorded in a material form, or not, and whether true, or not, about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Praxhub also collects non-Personal Information to facilitate the Service or improve the Service.

These include:

  • Third-party identifiers
  • IP Addresses
  • Cookies

Third-party identifiers

Praxhub may collect third-party identifiers to verify a member's identity or to facilitate the Service. This includes information required to verify a member's identity as a registered healthcare professional, report the progress of a member's continuing professional development (CPD) activities, or to lodge the completion of education on a member's behalf. In some instances, Praxhub may be required to disclose this information to facilitate the Service. See "Use of Personal Information", below.

IP Addresses

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a small set of numbers automatically assigned to your computer when you log onto the Internet. In rare instances we may need to link an IP address to the Personal Information of a member if we know or suspect a violation of a law, or it becomes necessary to investigate or enforce compliance with the Terms of Use.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your hard disk, which are used to improve your experience of the Site, and to assist us to understand and analyse use of the Site. For example, a cookie may be used to pre-populate a form, or save members from entering details more than once.

In most Internet browsers, you can either accept or decline cookies or adjust the browser settings to decline all cookies. Note that declining cookies may impact your experience of the Site or limit the Site's functionality.

How Praxhub collects your Personal Information

Praxhub only collects Personal Information by fair and lawful means. Where it is reasonable and practical to do so, Praxhub will collect Personal Information directly from you, where you have directly supplied that information. Common and standard ways in which Praxhub collects Personal Information include:

  • through the Site, including the new member registration form, contact form, activity evaluation forms, discussion forums and threads
  • by email, fax, websites, forms or other common forms of electronic communications
  • by physical forms of correspondence, letters, physical registration/attendance forms
  • in person from you directly
  • by telephone
  • from third parties, in particular where those third parties are facilitating CPD activities or validating your status as a registered healthcare professional

Use of Personal Information

Collection of Personal Information

The purposes for which we collect your information include, but are not limited to:

  • facilitating your registration as a member of the Site
  • responding to a contact enquiry or facilitating support for your use of the Site
  • enabling you to utilise the Site's relevant features, posts, forums and any other forms of correspondence
  • enabling Praxhub or organisations that host education on the Site to lodge continuing professional development (CPD) points or hours on a member's behalf
  • informing you about new education activities, events, feature releases and Site updates
  • inviting you to participate in specific education activities, programs and market research
  • facilitating requests to receive Praxhub's newsletters
  • responding to enquiries received through the Site, or any other channel through which Praxhub's support services or a team member can be contacted

Use of Personal Information

Praxhub will only use your Personal Information for the purpose that it was collected (see "Collection of Personal Information"). That specific purpose may depend on the context in which your Personal Information was collected.

For example, Personal Information that is supplied by you in connection with a support request may be used by Praxhub's support team to facilitate a desired outcome.

In limited and more exceptional circumstances, we may use your Personal Information without your consent as prescribed by local laws. This may include a requirement to use your Personal Information to protect the safety of an individual or the public.

Disclosure of Personal Information to third parties

Praxhub will not disclose your Personal Information to third parties, except as set out below, if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or as set out in this Privacy Policy.

Third party service providers

Praxhub will, from time to time, use third-party service providers to facilitate the Praxhub Service.

We will not disclose any Personal Information to which you have not consented to their use or disclosure.

All third-party service providers selected by Praxhub have either received and agreed to comply with Praxhub's Privacy Policy, or have their own privacy policies, which are as strict (or stricter) than the Praxhub Privacy Policy.

We may, occasionally, be required to disclose your Personal Information to service providers that are located outside of Australia. Praxhub has and will use all reasonable measures to ensure that its third-party services providers, in whichever jurisdiction, adhere to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

CPD reporting obligations

If you have completed education on the Site, for which you are eligible to have CPD points or hours lodged on your behalf, Praxhub will disclose your Personal Information to the organisation or party responsible for facilitating the lodgement of those points or hours. Disclosure of your Personal Information may be directly to the CPD authority, or a third party responsible for lodging your points or hours with the CPD authority.

For example, if you:

  • have completed an education video in which there are CPD hours allocated, and
  • are eligible to have CPD hours lodged with a CPD authority on your behalf, and
  • have completed the required amount of that education,

Praxhub will disclose your Personal Information to either the CPD authority or the third party responsible for reporting completion of the activity.

How your Personal Information is stored

The Personal Information that you provide through the Site, your interactions with Praxhub or that we collect is stored in various ways. Praxhub takes all reasonable measures to ensure that:

  • the Personal Information that we hold about you is complete, accurate and up to date;
  • it is only accessible by those in Praxhub as it pertains to their role and that steps are taken to ensure that it is free from misuse, interference, modification or unauthorised access; and
  • your Personal Information is properly destroyed if it is no longer required.

The measures that Praxhub takes to ensure the security of your Personal Information include information and communication technology (ICT), authentication, authorisation and permission controls, secure endpoint detection, event monitoring, encryption, firewalls, use of industry-leading infrastructure.

Members of the Site can help to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Personal Information that Praxhub holds by ensuring their profile is up to date. Amendments and modifications to your Personal Information can be completed via the settings function in your individual profile.

Access to and correction of your Personal Information

At any time, you may contact us to access, change or correct any of the Personal Information that we hold by emailing support@praxhub.com and including in the subject line "To the Privacy Officer".

Changes to Privacy Policy

In the collection of any Personal Information, Praxhub complies with local privacy laws and regulations. We may, from time to time, update our Privacy Policy to describe our management of Personal Information, in accordance with any changes to the Praxhub Service.
