About

As gender-affirming hormone therapy becomes more common in primary care, GPs are encountering testosterone-related acne. This short-form activity would provide a practical approach to recognising, assessing and managing acne in transgender and gender-diverse patients, including treatment selection, counselling, referral pathways, and balancing effective acne management with continuation of gender-affirming hormone therapy.

This activity comprises a short educational video, followed by a reflective activity. Participants must complete both components to qualify for 30 minutes of Reviewing Performance (RP) Hours.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Outline a best practice approach to recognising and managing testosterone-related acne in patients receiving gender-affirming hormone therapy.
  2. Reflect on how escalation and referral strategies for testosterone-related acne could be integrated into your current practice to optimise patient outcomes.
  3. Apply a practical, guideline-aligned approach to managing testosterone-related acne while supporting continuation of gender-affirming hormone therapy.
