About

In Australia, more than 50% of patients stop taking their osteoporosis medication within 1 to 2 years.¹ Patients often do not associate osteoporosis with fracture risk.² Practical tips will be shared to help them make this connection and encourage them to start/stay on anti-resorptive drugs (ARDs).

This activity comprises a short educational video, followed by a reflective activity. Participants must complete both components to qualify for 30 minutes of Reviewing Performance (RP) Hours.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Outline the best practice approach to communicating fracture risk and treatment benefits in patients with osteoporosis.
  2. Critically reflect on recent interactions with patients to optimise discussions about fracture risk and treatment adherence.
  3. Apply guideline-aligned approaches to improve patient understanding of osteoporosis and support long-term treatment adherence.
