Dr Thai will discuss a GP's management of common shoulder problems, including a look at different investigations required for a diagnosis of each of the problems, and provides GP's with a general overview of how they will treat and manage patients that fall into this category. This presentation will assist GP's in the diagnosis and management of common shoulder problems.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Elicit a thorough history to investigate conditions in patients presenting with shoulder
    pain or weakness.
  2. Perform a targeted physical examination of the shoulder and compile a list of differential diagnoses.
  3. Offer relevant screening and investigations that will assist with diagnosis.
  4. Make valid and timely decisions about referral to specialists.
  5. Establish a management plan based on all findings including history, examination and
    investigation.
