About

The aim of this educational video is to improve the knowledge and competence of GP’s managing eating disorders in a primary care setting. Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, and avoidant restrictive food intake disorder. Each of these disorders is associated with different but sometimes overlapping symptoms. People exhibiting any combination of these symptoms may have an eating disorder and should be evaluated by a health care provider.

Using case-based discussion, this activity will provide an opportunity to update your knowledge and develop practical tools in order to support patients with eating disorders.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the most common eating disorders in clinical practice.
  2. List screening tools used in the comprehensive assessment of eating disorders.
  3. Outline referral pathways available to patients suffering from an eating disorder.
