This video use common cases to examine best practice treatment approaches for patients presenting with insomnia and a co-occurring mental health condition. The presenters will discuss the biopsychosocial factors involved in clinical assessment, ways to engage patients in treatment planning and the range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions that are available.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe best-practice approaches to assess patients who present with sleep disturbance and an associated mental health comorbidity.
  2. Outline a management plan which includes non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical options to concurrently treat a sleep disturbance and an associated mental health condition.
