About

This update has been developed with a GP focus in order to expand the understanding of diagnostic and management strategies for patients presenting with suspected workplace back injuries. This activity will address clinical and administrative challenges faced by primary care providers.

A neurosurgeon and personal injury specialist will take GPs through a video that reviews and examines evidence, patient case studies and the diagnostic, treatment and management options available to General Practitioners.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Discuss a range of investigation techniques and imaging modalities for the diagnosis of work related back pain.
  2. Recognise when a specialist referral is necessary for a patient presenting with back pain.
  3. Describe the key themes and unique optics to document in a medical report.
  4. Outline considerations to be aware of during report writing of diagnosis and the causation of injuries.
