52:03In part one of a two part wound closure series we hear from Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon Professor Mark Ashton who provides a practical working guide to wound closure. The video aims to provide a clear classification for different types of wounds and explain which wounds are safe to close at the time of presentation, and why, and what wounds need to be treated with care.
The talk will give tips and tricks that are invaluable in the management of difficult wounds, and will discuss the most common mistakes made by inexperienced doctors and nurses, and how to avoid them. The presentation is directed at any doctor or nurse working in trauma, asked to manage wound breakdown after surgery or the management of chronic ulcers and wants to know how to get them to heal.
