This multidisciplinary education session is designed to support general practitioners in the early identification, assessment and management of common presentations across mental health, men’s health and general surgery. It will explore the complexities of ADHD with co-occurring psychiatric conditions, outline the role of psychological interventions in improving patient outcomes, and provide practical, evidence-based guidance on PSA testing, lower urinary tract symptoms and atypical gallbladder presentations. GPs will be equipped with enhanced clinical decision-making skills, including risk assessment and appropriate referral pathways, to optimise patient care in primary practice.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this CPD activity, GP participants will be able to:

1. Reflect on personal attitudes and values about masculinity, the role of men in society, and how this may influence interactions with patients, their families and carers.
2. Identify and acquire necessary skills and knowledge to address the specific healthcare needs of men in their local community.
3. Use a range of professional, inclusive and culturally sensitive approaches when discussing health concerns with male patients of all ages.
4. Identify, diagnose and refer to specialist treatment for a range of common health conditions that affect male patients.
